Privacy policy

Up&Down has no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no server of its own. Your bag, your rounds and your settings stay on your phone.
What leaves your phone, and why
- Courses near you. When you ask for courses near you, the app sends where you are, rounded to about half a mile, to OpenStreetMap's public servers. They answer with the courses nearby.
- A course's holes. The app asks OpenStreetMap for the course's map, the US Geological Survey for its ground, laser survey and aerial photos, and the US National Weather Service for its weather. Each is asked at the course's location, not yours.
- Your exact position. On the course, the app uses GPS to put the ball where you stand. That stays on your phone.
- Reports. A report goes out only as an email you send from your own Mail app, after you've seen it. It's used only to answer you and fix the app.
Those services answer anyone who asks, and each has its own privacy policy. We don't sell or share data, because we receive none, apart from reports you choose to send.
Deleting your data
To delete what the app keeps, delete rounds in the app, or delete the app. To have a report you sent deleted, email us.
